Student Aid Report (SAR)
Your completed FAFSA will generate a Student Aid Report (SAR). Your SAR summarizes all the information you provided on your FAFSA. You will receive your SAR:
- By email 3 – 5 days after your FAFSA has been processed, if you provided an email address when you applied. (You must access secure line to view SAR online).
- By mail 7 – 10 days after your FAFSA has been processed, if you do not provide an email address when you apply.
Students can view their online SAR at the Federal Student Aid website.
The SAR shows your Student Aid Index (SAI). The SAI is the amount you and your family are expected to contribute toward your education. The Financial Aid Office uses the SAI to determine the type and amount of aid for which you qualify. For example, the SAI tells us about your eligibility for grants, loans, and work-study employment.
Take the time to review your SAR for accuracy and completeness. You must correct any mistakes or errors to receive the financial aid for which you qualify.
